A 360-Degree Journey to Glowing Skin

Skincare, Nutrition, Treatments, and Self-Care

At Curated Skin and Wellness, I focus on a 360-Degree Approach to Skin Wellness, I want us to work together in a partnership while treating your Skin from the Inside Out and Outside In

In the quest for our best skin, we often focus on the products we apply topically, and of course – I have a curated line up of effective and transformative products to suit and target all skin concerns, time restraints and budgets to enhance the benefits from your in-clinic treatments and lifestyle tweaks – incorporating high-quality at-home products is essential, but we can’t neglect the profound impact of our internal health. True long lasting skin wellness requires a holistic approach, treating the skin from both the inside out and the outside in. This 360 degree strategy not only enhances your skin, but also  helps promote overall health. I firmly believe  a comprehensive plan, incorporating innovative in-clinic treatments and effective at-home products, considering gut health along with any needed internals such as probiotics, quercetin, glutathione, and vitamins will give you the best chance to achieve glowing skin. Because I believe the best skin journeys are a partnership, I also delve into your at-home responsibilities concerning the vital roles of lifestyle, sleep, and stress reduction.

Gut Health- Your Skin’s Secret Superhero

A healthy gut is pivotal for beautiful skin. The gut-skin connection is well-documented; with imbalances in gut bacteria leading to inflammation and skin conditions like acne, eczema, and rosacea. Adding probiotics to your routine can significantly benefit both gut and skin health by balancing gut microbiome and helping maintain a healthy balance of gut flora. A balanced microbiome is crucial for digestion, nutrient absorption, and immune function. Probiotics also have anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce any chronic inflammation in the body.

A healthy gut enhances the absorption of essential nutrients that are vital for skin health, including minerals and vitamins.

A significant portion of the immune system is located in the gut. Probiotics can strengthen your immune response, a robust immune system can prevent flare-ups of skin conditions

Certain probiotic strains can produce compounds that benefit the skin, such as short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs). SCFAs help maintain skin barrier function and hydration.

Probiotics can help regulate hormones, hormonal imbalances can lead to issues like pigmentation, acne, excessive oiliness and accelerated ageing.

Incorporating probiotics into your routine can have a profound impact on both gut and skin health. By fostering a balanced gut microbiome, reducing inflammation, enhancing nutrient absorption, and supporting the immune system, probiotics serve as a valuable ally in achieving healthy, radiant skin. Consider adding probiotic-rich foods like yoghurt, kefir, sauerkraut, or a quality supplement  such as Advanced Nutrition Skin Youth Biome to your daily regimen for optimal benefits. I choose this formula because it is a completely unique probiotic blend with specially formulated bacteria carefully encased in a protective matrix to ensure the live bacteria actually survives the stomach acid and passes through to the intestine where they are finally released to target where they are needed the most.

When I see inflammation at the root cause of your skin health/concern – we may explore antioxidants such as Quercetin, a powerful antioxidant found in many fruits and vegetables. Its anti-inflammatory properties help reduce redness and irritation. I love this for my peri and menopausal clients when fluctuations in estrogen see histamine making itself known with immune reactions and increased sensitivities. I choose to recommend Superdose Quercetin, as its patented liposomal delivery system ensures good absorption and efficacy.

I also will lean to Superdose lipoosomal Glutathione– known as the body’s master antioxidant, glutathione plays a crucial role in detoxification and skin health. It helps combat oxidative stress and can lighten dark spots, giving your skin a brighter appearance. Foods rich in sulphur, such as garlic and cruciferous vegetables, can boost glutathione levels naturally.

Vitamins A, B, and C will sometimes be on your recommendation list, depending on your skin concern

Vitamin A: Essential for skin repair and regeneration, vitamin A promotes cell turnover and can improve texture and tone. The Vitamin A I recommend for internal support may come in Advanced Nutrition Skin Accumax ( a game changing natural way to deal with acne, inflammation and rosacea) designed to help clear non-cystic acne and improve problem skin in general. Scientists have blended a specific combination of vitamins with diindolylmethane (DIM), a phytonutrient identified in cruciferous vegetables.

My Advanced Nutrition  Skin Omegas+ has omega-3 combined with omega-6 from evening primrose oil and  also vitamin A. I’ll also encourage you to Incorporate foods like sweet potatoes, carrots, and spinach to boost your intake of Vitamin A precursors.

Vitamin B: This group of vitamins, particularly B3 (niacin), helps improve skin hydration and barrier function. Superdose B complex  is a complete, balanced blend of  B vitamins, since our bodies cannot produce B vitamins, regular replenishment is essential. This advanced formula stands out in two key ways: Firstly, it contains active, methylated forms of B vitamins that the body can readily utilise without any conversion. Secondly, the superior liposomal technology improves the delivery of these vital nutrients, ensuring superior absorption and cellular support. B complex Foods to include in your diet include whole grains, legumes, and seeds.

Vitamin C: A potent antioxidant, vitamin C is vital for collagen production and protecting the skin from environmental damage(including excessive blue light exposure from devices and artificial lighting). Superdose Vitamin C comes in various concentrations, depending on your skin needs. At home, citrus fruits, strawberries, and bell peppers are all great sources.

In-Clinic Treatments: Elevating Your Skin Care

While nourishing your body from within is a crucial and ongoing task, professional in-clinic treatments also significantly enhance your skin’s appearance and health. At Curated Skin and Wellness, I offer several advanced treatments that complement this holistic approach:

Nanofusion

A non invasive, pain-free treatment that delivers spectacular results. My device uses a cartridge with either stainless steel or silicon pyramid shaped cones, ( the cartridge is chosen according to your skin condition and needs,) each of these cones are approximately just 1/3 the size of a human body hair and create tiny channels in the top layer of the skin. These tiny channels are invisible to the naked eye, and allow active serums to have up to 97% better absorption. I take advantage of this, using targeted serums to do some of the “heavy lifting” when treating skin conditions, effectively addressing  and ensuring next level results for many skin concerns such as pigmentation, dehydration, acne, sensitivity and dullness.

Electroporation

This non-invasive method utilises electrical pulses to temporarily increase the permeability of the skin. This allows for deeper penetration of serums and nutrients, maximising their effectiveness. It’s particularly beneficial for delivering peptides and antioxidants that support skin health.

LED Therapy

LED therapy employs different wavelengths of light to target various skin concerns. Red light stimulates collagen production,  blue light helps combat acne-causing bacteria, while green light targets the causes of pigmentation

Sculpting Massage

Sculpting massage techniques help improve circulation and lymphatic drainage, reducing puffiness and promoting a more contoured appearance. This relaxing treatment not only feels great but also enhances product absorption and can promote a healthy glow.

The Importance of Lifestyle, Sleep, and Stress Reduction

When I studied Integrative nutrition in 2014, it became increasingly apparent to me that our daily habits play a significant role in our skin’s health. Regular exercise boosts circulation, promoting nutrient delivery to the skin and enhancing its glow. Hydration is equally essential; drinking enough electrolyte rich water helps maintain skin elasticity and suppleness. A balanced diet rich in antioxidants, healthy fats, and vitamins supports skin health from within. At your appointment, we will have discussions around this – sometimes the little tweaks can make the biggest difference.

Sleep

Quality sleep is critical for skin regeneration and repair. During sleep, the body undergoes various restorative processes. Aim for 7-9 hours of uninterrupted sleep each night to allow your skin to recover and rejuvenate. Establishing a calming bedtime routine, such as reducing screen time and incorporating relaxation techniques can enhance sleep quality.

Stress Reduction

Chronic stress can wreak havoc on your skin. Finding effective stress management techniques is essential for maintaining skin health. Practices such as mindfulness meditation, yoga, deep breathing exercises, and spending time in nature can help reduce stress levels.  For me, my stress reducing happy places are pottering with recipes in my kitchen or being out on the ocean on my paddleboard – I can help you remember your happy places! We need to relearn to prioritise self-care and leisure activities because these help promote overall well-being and, in turn, healthier skin.

Two Sides of the Same Glow: Internal and External Skin Care

The real magic happens when you combine internal and external treatments. A diet rich in antioxidants and vitamins, with carefully considered supplements supports your skin’s structure and function, while topical products and in-clinic treatments deliver targeted benefits.

Pairing these internal strategies with effective topical treatments, innovative in-clinic therapies, and mindful lifestyle choices, you’ll be well on your way to glowing skin that reflects your overall health and wellness.

Achieving healthy, radiant skin requires this holistic, 360-degree approach, ensuring that your skin receives comprehensive care, addressing both the symptoms and root causes of skin issues.

Embrace this comprehensive plan, and watch your skin thrive!
